Court Advocacy
When individuals are not meeting their financial obligations due to loss of employment. They are recommended by the court to enter into the Village Initiative programs for assistance with job placements. The Village Initiative court advocates attend all child support dockets in Divisions 17 & 18 on Mondays at 9:00 am and 1:30 pm; Tuesdays at 9:00 am and 1:30 pm, and Thursdays at 9:00 am. We also have an advocate in Division 18 for Paternity Court on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of every month. In addition, an advocate will be present in Division 18 Traffic Courts on Fridays at 9:00 a.m.
The Village Initiative also provides a Life Skill class for parenting. Individuals with arrears account with the State, will receive up to $2500 credit for completing this and other Life Skill Classes.
